The Original Bristol Blue Glass, now in it's 25th year, was established by James Adlington to restore a glass making tradition that was last seen in Bristol 60 years ago. James was trained in the art of traditional glass making by Peter St Clair and has passed on these skills to a new generation of glass blowers. The Original Bristol Blue Glass now produces some of the finest glassware in the UK. Every piece is unique and if you prefer, clear crystal pieces are also handmade and sold on the premises.
The company has been involved in a number of special projects and their glassware has appeared on both film and TV. Most notably, The Original Bristol Blue Glass produced goblets used in 'Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone'. They also created a centre-piece for one of the TARDIS consoles in Dr Who.
GLASS BLOWING: It's free to watch the glassblowers at work and then you can grasp an opportunity to put your own breath into a bauble (the glassblower will make the bauble) for £12.50. Your creation will be left to cool down overnight in the kiln. You can collect these the next day or have them posted to you by recorded delivery.
